Samsung Solve for Tomorrow

Overview
Since 2019, thousands of young people across the UK and Ireland have taken on Samsung Solve for Tomorrow – using creativity, curiosity and technology to tackle real‑world problems that matter to them. Working across three themes – Smarter Sport, Greener Future and Safer Online – teams used design thinking to explore issues, shape their ideas and create prototypes of tech‑for‑good concepts, ranging from apps to medical devices.
After working with Samsung mentors to develop their ideas and skills, the top teams earned their place at the live final at Samsung KX, where they pitched their solutions in person to a panel of experts. The standard was incredibly high, with thoughtful, creative and impactful ideas coming through at every stage, showcasing what young innovators can achieve when they put their minds to it.

“I’ve learned how my ideas can affect the world around me. When I came up with my idea after a little bit of brainstorming, I felt like I hit the jackpot. “The highlight was definitely meeting so many like-minded people. There’s so many young people passionate about solving problems using technology and it’s just so inspiring to see that next generation… there’s so [many] positives to take from it. Through taking part, I learned to be more confident when it comes to presenting and public speaking. My advice to someone taking part next year would be to just believe in yourself because you’re capable of anything you put your mind to.” |

“It was a really eye-opening experience – I got to talk to so many people about how I could design something to make their life better. I had no experience in med tech before, but with the people around me I really wanted to solve a problem that mattered. I’ve learned how to present, how to sell an idea, and to put myself out there – things I hadn’t done before. My advice to anyone thinking of entering next year: just go for it. As long as you have a genuine passion for it, you are good enough. It’s a really fulfilling experience, and if it doesn’t work out, it’s okay – it’s a learning process.” |
